Estate Agents: Are you making it personal???

Facebook vanity URL’s launched at 12:01 AM on Sat June 13th (4.01 am GMT) and during the first 3 minutes after launch the site had already reserved over 200,000 names and after 15 more minutes went over the 500,000 mark. After one hour it went over the 1,000,000 mark and that continues to climb.

The benefits of having a vanity/personalised URL is that it makes it easy to share with others and importantly it helps you claim a little piece of social media space as your own.

In answer to peoples quest for personalisation on the web, Henry Yates has launched estatecreate, a service allowing estate agents to easily create stand alone single property websites for their sale or letting clients with vanity URL’s as one of the benefits.

The sites can have their own personal domain name (e.g. and carry the estate agent’s branding. estatecreate is the first company to offer this service to estate agents in the UK.

“For as little as £2 per month per site estate agents can offer their clients their own stand alone website with a bespoke URL” said Henry. “It’s a great way to differentiate your service and win an instruction by showcasing your client’s property. estatecreate single property sites are the 21st Century’s answer to property brochures.”

Greene and Co, the award winning estate agency, are one of estatecreate’s launch clients and I’m told more high profile agents are soon to follow.

The site looks easy to use and works with a template set up by estate create and then a feed to automatically upload properties details. The agent can then easily move text, photos and video, add pages and drag and drop content around each page, which is where the agent can really go to town providing additional background information on the property, the location and the lifestyle.

Two high profile private sellers I’ve seen over recent weeks have both had their own vanity URL web site showcasing their properties (

I think this can be a huge instruction winner for agents and the accompanying business cards available for each vendor can be a way of them telling their friends, colleagues and associates about the property whilst promoting your agency as doing something different.

In my opinion agents need to hurry because it may not be a USP for long…
